The guitar pictured is the actual guitar you will receive!
At The Farm, we take actual pictures of each instrument and make sure they are fully set-up and ready to play before we ship them. Each instrument goes through a multi-point inspection, followed by a set-up process by our in-house tech staff. We then photograph each instrument with high-quality equipment in our on-site photography studio. We know that details like wood grain and color finishes can vary, so we want you to be able to see, to the best of our ability, exactly what you will be receiving.
This process takes over an hour for each instrument - from inspection to pictures. We care about the instrument we put into your hands! Rest assured your guitar was not just plucked off of a shelf and drop-shipped to you from a warehouse without care.
The G-1275 is based on the vintage original “1235” Doubleneck that was first produced at the legendary Gibson/Epiphone Kalamazoo, Michigan factory in 1963. It quickly became one of the most sought-after and original guitars in rock. It was not only embraced by British rockers like Pete Townshend of the Who, Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin, and John McLaughlin but also Elvis Presley and bluesman Earl Hooker. When Epiphone first reintroduced the Doubleneck, it too became a legend thanks to The Flaming Lips. When the SG or "Solid Guitar" was introduced in 1961 as a replacement for the Les Paul, it was called the "fretless wonder" for its low frets and fast action. The twin horn cutaway design was like nothing on the market and its light but balanced weight made it the perfect guitar for stage and studio work. The Les Paul Custom SG featured 3 humbucker pickups, and since then, the SG has became the go-to guitar for artists like The Who's Pete Townshend, Tony Iommi, Paul Weller, AC/DC's Angus Young, Jimmy Page and Derek Trucks of the Allman Brothers Band. The original “1275” capitalized on the SG’s stunning looks, futuristic sound, and lightweight body.
This G-1275 has a select Mah body with Alpine White finish. Both the 12 string and 6 string necks are made from Mah and share a 1960s SlimTaper shape, a 12" radius and a 24.75" scale. Both necks also feature fretboards with binding, 20 medium jumbo frets, and Pearloid parallelogram block inlays. The 12 string features a 1.85" nut width while the 6 string is cut to the standard 1.68". Machine heads are period-correct “Deluxe” Tulip Button tuners with a pro 18:1 ratio.
The G-1275 isn’t just eye catching, it sounds extraordinary, too. The 12 string half of the G-1275 features an Alnico Classic humbucker in the neck position and an Alnico Classic Plus humbucker in the bridge position. The 6 string body is powered by an open coil Alnico Classic humbucker in the neck and an open coil Alnico Classic Plus humbucker at the bridge. Both pickups are controlled by full function Black Speed Knobs for volume and tone that are powered by full-size 500K potentiometers.
Epiphone has also re-created the one-of-a-kind hardware and pickguard that make the G-1275 one of the most easily recognized guitars in rock. The 6 string and 12 string each have their own Epiphone all-metal 3-way toggle switch for pickup selection. There is also a second “master” all-metal 3-way toggle switch located between the 6 string and 12 string bridge. From here, players can choose the 12 string (up), the 6 string (down) or both (middle) for unlimited tone combinations. The G-1275 Custom features Epiphone’s famous LockTone bridge and special ABS style “Claw” tailpieces which yields incredible sustain.
Comes with the hardshell case pictured.
