The Farm recently visited the Dean headquarters in Tampa and stumbled across a treasure trove of samples and prototypes deep within the warehouse and snagged them up. Many of these instruments ultimately ended up going into production, some did not. Others are prototypes and one-of-a-kind. The samples are ones that were made during the designing stage and factory selection and may not have the same specs as what went to production, therefore they may be one-of-a-kind as well.

The mandolin pictured is the actual mandolin you will receive!

At The Farm, we take actual pictures of each instrument and make sure they are fully set-up and ready to play before we ship them. Each instrument goes through a multi-point inspection, followed by a set-up process by our in-house tech staff. We then photograph each instrument with high-quality equipment in our on-site photography studio. We know that details like wood grain and color finishes can vary, so we want you to be able to see, to the best of our ability, exactly what you will be receiving.

This process takes over an hour for each instrument - from inspection to pictures. We care about the instrument we put into your hands! Rest assured your manolin was not just plucked off of a shelf and drop-shipped to you from a warehouse without care.

This Tennessee A style mandolin is a 2013 sample. It features a select Spruce top with Mah back and sides. The set Mah neck offers a C profile, 13 7/8" scale and 20 frets with Pearl dot inlays. Additional appointments include arch top construction with F holes, body and fretboard binding, vintage style open gear tuners and Vintage Sunburst finish.

You are buying a quality instrument made of wood. Each instrument goes thorough a pre-shipment inspection to ensure you are getting a great quality instrument. However, please keep in mind when instruments are shipped they can endure temperature changes as well as doing the "shipper shuffle" and therefore minor adjustments may be needed to set up the instrument to your personal preferences after receiving it.

Included in your shipment will be instructions on care and maintenance.
