After being voted "Best Metal Guitarist," "Number 1 Shredder" and receiving the "Metal Hammer," "Riff Lord," and "Golden God" awards, its no question why the R&D department at Dean jumped at the opportunity to design Zakk Wylde his own exclusive Dean Guitar.

Dean came out with this guitar in the Splittal design in January of 2007, and Dean Zelinsky himself designed the neck for this guitar by hand. There were only two of this guitar ever made, as this was the prototype for the body shape, and the other was presented to Zakk Wylde as a signature model. Dean also autographed the headstock of this guitar in gold marker.

Loaded with two EMG pickups and a pearl white finish, this guitar is hott in more ways than one!

The perfect combination of an 81/85 humbucker set makes this guitar absolutely scream. A three way selector switch and tone/volume knobs give you enough tonal range to cleanly shred a solo, or crunch with fat chords.

As far as a tone wood combination, the Splittail proto was designed with a mahogany body and matching neck through body. Dean designed the neck to be both fast and comfortable, especially for heavy metal guitarists. To go along with that an Ebony fingerboard was used to give the player a buttery smooth surface to run their fingers up and down.

A unique piece you won't find anywhere except maybe Zakk Wylde's rack, this guitar is definitely one worth checking out!
