AE Cymbals are real acoustic cymbals that respond and sound like any other standard cymbal, the difference is these perform at a quarter of the volume. The dual microphone and digital signal processing allows the AE cymbal to create a range of natural cymbal effects without having to use sampling or MIDI.
The Zildjian G16AE 14" Hi Hats utilize a patented pattern of holes in varying sizes to reduce the sound pressure level (SPL) of an acoustic cymbal. These cymbals can then be amplified via the optional Direct Source Pickup and optional Digital Cymbal Processor to create the acoustic/electric sound. They can also be used with hybrid kits to develop new textures or electronic kits to capture a real cymbal feel versus playing on rubber pads.
This cymbal is on display in our retail store. It may have light fingerprints from being handled, but has never been played.
