The guitar pictured is the actual guitar you will receive!
At The Farm, we take actual pictures of each instrument and make sure they are fully set-up and ready to play before we ship them. Each instrument goes through a multi-point inspection, followed by a set-up process by our in-house tech staff. We then photograph each instrument with high-quality equipment in our on-site photography studio. We know that details like wood grain and color finishes can vary, so we want you to be able to see, to the best of our ability, exactly what you will be receiving.
This process takes over an hour for each instrument - from inspection to pictures. We care about the instrument we put into your hands! Rest assured your guitar was not just plucked off of a shelf and drop-shipped to you from a warehouse without care.
When a company like Washburn, that's been making instruments for over 130 years, decides to make a vintage-style guitar, you can be sure they know what they're doing. This R314 closely resembles one of the handcrafted guitars of the late nineteenth or early twentieth century, one that's been well loved and never abused. It's apparent in the R314's vintage finish and artfully distressed hardware. But, like all Washburn guitars, this instrument has been made using top-of-the-line modern techniques, offering sound and performance that's better than ever. Because this guitar is built using modern techniques and materials, the resulting instrument is more durable, and in many cases better sounding, than its century old counterparts.
The R314 is a parlor body acoustic guitar. It has the look and feel of a guitar that would have been made in the early 20th century and played well since. It features a Spruce top and Trembesi back and sides, and a Mah neck with a V profile for better grip and chord formation. The old style slotted headstock features distressed open gear tuners and classy Pearl inlaid design. The Ebony fretboard showcases Fancy 1890's Style inlays and has a 1 7/8" nut width to facilitate fingerpick or slide styles.
Additional apointments include quarter sawn scalloped Sitka Spruce bracing, Ebony bridge, bone nut, Abalone rosette, and a natural vintage matte finish.
Comes with the Washburn turn-of-the-century hardshell "coffin case" pictured.
