Don't miss your chance to own a piece of American Rock 'n' Roll history! Founded in the late 70's by the then head of Saint Louis Music, Gene Kornblum. By the ’70s, SLM was distributing a few lines of amplifiers including Magnatone and EMC, but had not yet produced or manufactured an amp under their own brand.

Legend has it that Gene Kornblum was in a Crate & Barrel store and was inspired to build a guitar amp by the wooden crates that held the retail chain’s products. In 1978, the Crate CR-1 (the very same model listed here) was introduced and it was indeed housed in a wooden crate similar to a military footlocker. Fast forward a few years and the larger 60-watt Crate CR-II was introduced to an instantly became a hit!

This vintage Crate CR-II late-70's/early 80's solid state amp features a rugged wooden construction, a hand-wired and hard-wired power cable and speaker cable and powerful 60-watt sold state configuration that has a great sounding vintage tone that is easily dialed in by the onboard EQ.

Utilize the dual inputs (Hi and Lo) and the Bright switch to get the proper foundation of your tonal journey and then dial it into perfection with the Gain, Treble, Frequency (Mid-Scoop), Middle and Bass controls! Simply adjust the Master volume control to your desired level of loudness and get ready to rock!

The hand-wired and hard-wired speaker cabinet features the original Crate 10" speaker, that has been properly broken-in over the years for a sweet, warm, vintage tone. The speaker cabinet also features a 4-ohm extension speaker jack, if you were to decide to hook this up to a matching cabinet for dual 10" goodness.

Use effects? Then just plug into the onboard effects loop and start stomping! From the studio to the stage and everywhere in between, this vintage Crate CR-II head and cabinet combination is one that sounds as good as it looks!

This is a vintage amp and may show some signs of use that are comparable to what is expected from a vintage amp. This amp is has been tested and functions as expected. Please take a moment to review our pictures as they accurately portray the true condition of this amp.
