This late-60's/early-70's Vox Series 90 V131 cabinet was made by the Vox division of the US based Thomas Organ Company and, at the time, it was revolutionary in design - crowning the entire Vox Series 90 collection the flagship models of the US Vox line from 1969 through 1971.
Unlike most amplifiers, the power amplifier and power supply sections of the Series 90 amps were mounted inside the speaker cabinet. This made the control section, or "head" quite lightweight as it no longer needed to include a power transformer or power amp section.
This 150 watt cabinet is loaded with 2x12" speakers and originally had 1 horn (The horn has been bypassed and correctly removed - our tech states that the crossover is still in there and, in theory, could be re-hooked up if a proper horn was installed). This also features a tubular trolley, which were similarly seen on other Vox amps of the time.
This would be perfect match for either of the Vox V132 and V133 preamp heads, or with any modern day preamps, to recreate the glorious rock 'n' roll tones of the golden era.
This has NOT been updated to a three-prong, grounded, plug.
This is a used cabinet and does show some signs of slight use, but has been fully tested and functions as expected. Please take a moment to review our pictures, as they accurately portray the true condition of this cabinet.
